EN 81-40:2020 Safety rules for the construction and installation of lifts – Special lifts for the transport of persons and goods – Part40: Stair lifts and inclined lifting platforms intended for persons with impaired mobility
The standard has been finally also cited in the OJEU (Official Journal of the European Union), and this is a great news. Now the standard has its legislative status as an Harmonised Standard. The new Standard has been cited on 15 of October 2021 and the old Standard (2008) will be withdrawn on 15 of April 2023. This means that it will be possible to use again the old standard until April 2023, but it will be possible to use the new standard if a manufacturer wants to do it.
